Sigh, I'm tired. I could just nod off right now, and its what, 8:00? I'm getting old. Or at least I feel that way today. I was in a client meeting for a online caravan insurance quote site (that's what I do by the way, online insurance quotes) and one of the clients leaned over to Amanda, one of the girls I work with, and said, "You're about my age, born in 1977?" I didn't say anything, especially since she's actually a month older than me though he obvious thought I was older than the both of them. She said later it's because of the way I speak, but I still feel old. Yawn.

Hopefully the weekend will put some spring back in my step. I'm going to see Pink - I even have pink hair spray! - tomorrow night with my mate Emma and then on to one of our old university hang-outs. On Saturday (after the almost obligatory trip into work) we're off to see the Sugababes. Spending all this time watching bands with screaming (younger) people will most likely make me feel even older, but you never know, the spirit of youth may invade me. Either way, the music will be wicked (notice the use of the "young" word - I would never say "wicked" what do you think I am, a teenager?) .

Realistically I would never ever want to be that young again. I mean really, who wants to deal with spots, boys, parents and no money. I'm quite happy with my fiancé, my reasonably good skin (kids - your mother is lying to you, spots never truly go away), my MONEY and my own house. Give that up to be 18? I think absolutely not. I do appreciate what I have, I just wish I didn't wake up in the morning to my joints cracking.

But this is supposed to be about planning the wedding! So here is the latest update. My mother has decided she's going to leap off the plane straight into "wedding mother" mode. She's had me schedule appointments for the day she arrives to see the dress, look at accessories, and check out the wedding list. Then she's going to run a marathon and hike 20 miles through the Pennines because she's JoanBo - super wedding-planning mom!

And while she's doing all this... I'll be asleep in the corner.

We're one step closer to actually being married! Yes, we've finally bought the wedding rings. As with everything to do with this wedding it was a "mini adventure" sans Mini (we drive a Renault Megane - yes the one with the funny bum).

We headed down to Shropshire on Saturday to pick out our rings from the Ring Workshop in Four Crosses - a little town near Oswestry. The weather was bright, windy and rainy. And yes, it is possible to have bright and rainy weather, but only in England. We arrive in Four Crosses an hour early and a bit hungry so we thought "pub lunch"! Well, it was definitely a bit of a "werewolf in London" experience, or it would have been if we weren't the ONLY people in the pub other than the landlord.

Surprisingly, the food was good (the Golden Lion in Four Crosses if you are ever in the area) and surprisingly again, he had no idea where the Shop was. Surprising because the town consisted of two pubs and a Purgeot dealership. But after four wrong turns and two phone calls to the shop we still arrived early. We did drive past the shop about four times, but they had taken down their sign because they had some trouble with break-ins. So not only can the thieves not find the shop, neither can the customers.

We went in sat down, had the obligatory cup of tea (I did, Giles declined - he's the only Englishman who thinks tea tastes like dishwater), and started looking at rings. I knew exactly what I wanted; Giles was a bit uncertain. It took him about 20 minutes from start to finish. It took me about an hour and a half.

So the epic ring buying experience ends with a happy ending. We did continue onto Oswestry where we stayed in a nice hotel and ate very nice food. Go to Oswestry, its nice!
